Q: Please introduce yourself.
A: My name is Ivan Petrenko, I'm 32 years old from Odesa Ukraine.
Q: What is your job position?
A: I work as an offshore welder on different projects around the world.
Q: What was the most challenging part of your job?
A: Maybe the part, that every time I am somewhere else. With my job, I don’t have a fixed position, and I am shifting to different places quite often. So the most challenging is, that when you get used to a certain place, you need to change it for another.
Q: What your job gave you?
A: With my job, I have the chance to see a lot of different places and to meet people from every corner of the World.
Q: What your job took from you?
A: Mostly my free time. With my job, I have very few free moments for me and my family.
Q: What was the most satisfying moment in your job?
A: Hah, it is definitely, when you are on the way home and you receive your paycheck.
Q: What was the worst moment in your career?
A: Every time, when I need to leave my family, knowing that I am going on a long project.
Q: If you could go back in time would you choose a different career path?
A: Most probably I won't. I like my job and the part that I am part of something important.
Q: How would you describe your job in two words?
A: Normal job.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: To save money, and maybe create my own subcontractor company for offshore welding.
